which is a nonprofit organisation set up by the community to engage and develop the needs of

Drimnagh. The board convenes meetings where ideas and views on particular issues can be

exchanged and agreed upon that will bring positive changes to the community of Drimnagh. The

Board (Dynamic Drimnagh Forum) of thirteen members is overseen by an Independent Chairperson,

Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary, a member of the Executive of Dublin City Council and an

Executive member of Dublin South City Partnership. Substitute Representatives may be nominated

by the Pillar sub-committees in the absence of elected representative on the board.

  1. Dynamic Drimnagh Forum:

The Dynamic Drimnagh Forum consist of a board of thirteen members whom are elected by the sub-

committees from the five pillars that form Dynamic Drimnagh

The role of leisure and culture in improving health and wellbeing through encouraging critical

theoretical and methodological reflection on the broad topic of leisure and wellbeing. A balanced

approach between leisure and culture provides positive mental health and a healthier holistic

A community that includes all groups, organisations, individuals from all cultural diversities

regardless of physical/mental abilities, spiritual beliefs, ethnicity, age, or sexual orientation.

  1. Lifelong Learning and Education:

Lifelong Learning Programmes consist of  a series of specific interests and courses that are

participative, engaging, and facilitated by experts in their field. Learners from all backgrounds have

opportunities to up-skill and enhance life opportunities through appropriate learning pathways that

afford them to engage in as flexible a manner as possible in terms of pace and place. Lifelong

Learning courses cover a broad range of topics including Languages, Art Appreciation, Irish Studies,

History, Literature, Philosophy, and Writing. They are open to; 

  • All pre-school children in preparation for primary, secondary and/or third level education.
  • All outreach service users.
  • All adult learners and provide a unique opportunity to explore a subject without examinations.
  • All ethnic minorities and inter-cultural groups or individuals

  1. Meetings:
    • An annual general meeting (AGM) is the yearly gathering of the Dynamic Drimnagh Forum’s interested stakeholders. At an annual general meeting (AGM), members of board present the company’s financial performance and stakeholders vote on the issues at hand.
    • Extraordinary general meeting (EGM) is used to deal with urgent matters that arise between AGMs. It may require dealing with emergency legal matters or removal of key stakeholders. An EGM is also called a special general meeting or emergency general meeting.
    • A general meeting may be called by DDF board members or requisitioned by a certain number of the members.
    • A subcommittee is a small group of people assigned to focus on a particular task or area, such as finance or personnel. A subcommittee generally makes recommendations to the Management Committee for decision.

      1. Membership:

      A member is a person who belongs to a group of people or a group such as an organisation,

      association, firm, partnership, corporation, company or nation who belongs to another group like an

      alliance or consortium.

      • Affiliated Membership

      Affiliate Membership is defined as: An adult person who is elected into membership by a Dynamic

      Drimnagh Pillar sub-committee can be designated as an Affiliate Member. Due to personal

      circumstances beyond their control, this member may be unable to attend all meetings and events

      but can be seen to be a valuable asset to the pillar. Upon membership they acquire voting rights.

      • Full Membership

      A Full Member is a person with ordinary membership to a DDF Pillar.

      1. Minutes:

      Minutes of all committee meetings that contain agenda topics, action plans and designated

      nominees to action such tasks.

      1. Public Relations:

      The professional maintenance of a favourable public image by the Dynamic Drimnagh Forum. It

      refers to internal and external relationships:

      Internal Public Relations refers to those who work, as well as have a role in, an organisation.

      External Public Relations with our closest community, customer relations, relationships with

      government, local government agencies, elected public representatives, investors, local voluntary

      groups/organisations, neighbouring, communities, representatives of public opinion, media

      relations, lobbying groups, corporate identity and Public Relations’ campaigns.

      1. Quorum:

      The minimum number of members of an assembly or society that must be present at any of its

      meetings to make the proceedings of that meeting valid.

      1. Referendum:

      A general vote by the electorate on a single question which has been referred to them for a direct

      A temporary Steering Committee has been established to set up the Dynamic Drimnagh Forum

      1. Strategic Pillars

      The Drimnagh community have now developed the Dynamic Drimnagh Plan 2030 which is a

      comprehensive plan that identifies five strategic pillars around which five strategic objectives have

      been established:

      a.Strategic Pillar 1A Cohesive Community in Drimnagh.
      b.Strategic Pillar 2Community Centred Development including: Housing, Planning and Safety.
      c.Strategic Pillar 3Green Spaces, Waterways and Environmental challenges.
      d.Strategic Pillar 4Lifelong learning and education for the community.
      eStrategic Pillar 5Health, Wellbeing, Leisure, and Culture.

      The delivery of the plan is dependent upon the formation of the Dynamic Drimnagh Forum (DDF)

      which will be a representative body drawn from organisations that serve the community and

      individuals who live in the community. In order to establish the DDF and ensure that it is inclusive of

      all parts of Drimnagh and all community interests.

      1. Sub-Committee:

      A committee composed of some members of a larger committee or group (E.g Pillar) , board, or

      other body that report and/or brings a unanimous vote/mandate to the Dynamic Drimnagh Forum

      (Board) to carry out their request.

      1. Terms of Office:

      A term of office is the length of time a person serves in a particular elected office. There is a defined

      limit of twelve months for members of the Steering Committee to hold office and a defined limit of

      three years on Board (DDF) members before the officeholder must be subject to re-election.

      1. Working Groups:

      A working group, or working party, is a group of experts working together to achieve specific goals.

      The groups are domain-specific and focus on discussion or activity around a specific subject area. The

      lifespan of a working group can last anywhere between a few months and several years.
